Thermography is the use of an infrared imaging and measurement camera to "see" and "measure" thermal energy emitted from an object. Infrared allows us to see what our eyes cannot. Unlike visible light, in the infrared world everything with a temperature above zero emits heat. Even very cold objects, like ice cubes, emit infared.

Detect Moisture and Water Damage

It is possible to detect moisture and water damage in a structure by using an infrared camera. This is partly because it has a different heat conduction property and partly because it has a different thermal capacity to store heat than the surrounding material.
